And after almost 2 years, the modding scene of PAYDAY 2 is thriving with so many mods out there to enhance your heisting experience.Below are some mods that I usually use, but I feel should be used more often. To me, they give us the must-have, quality of life features that the PAYDAY 2 developers should have put in, but now the playerbase is adding the features themselves.Most of the mods will be BLT mods, with reason I will elaborate further down.

And also some 'modoverride' mods that will enhance your experience, espeically in the visual department. There will be some terms that you might want to know to understand modding. BLT: A Lua hook mod designed for ease of use for players and modders alike. It's a tool that 'inserts' the custom script (mod) into the game, to be executed. modoverride: A directory to place all custom models/object files that will override the default one in-game, and the custom one will be used in-game instead.

Mod Options: Some mods have options to customize the effects of the mod. You can access it by going into Options when in the Main Menu, then choose Mod Options to view several mods that have this capability.SPECIAL NOTE:BeardLib: A large mod framework that assists in some 'special' mod creation. Flashlight ExtenderPAYDAY 2 default flashlight doesn't shine so much. It's more like a flashlight on the last spurt of battery power.If you pay attention, the light emitted from flashlight has a certain effective range (and that's very short), if an NPC moves away from that range, the NPC will not be shined anymore. Change Lobby NameIn order to change your lobby name, you must edit your Steam username. But it's too much hassle of alt-tabbing to Steam, go to Settings, and changing username.This mod adds in feature so you just have to type in what tag you want your lobby to have without editing your Steam username.For now, you must type in the Lobby Tag at a txt file in the mod folder, then save it.
