It is very possible to put a 2JZ in an Altezza but it is still going to be hard for you to the get the car back over here to the US. Have the VIN run and see if it come up as an Altezza or an IS300. That will tell you how to procede from there. Swap Insanity: Lexus IS250 with LS1 Swap is a Poor Man’s IS-F. He wanted to do a budget rebuild with the motor, but soon ended up involved a year long, multi-thousand dollar rebuild. When Epstein first got the engine, he was dead-set on dropping it into a Lexus IS300, but over the year of rebuilding the LS1 he noticed that.
There are a lot of ways to do it dude. I have looked at countless threads lol, and every person seems to do it in a slightly different way.As said, Dale would be a good person to speak to, some of my information was taken from conversations with him.A 2jz from an Aristo bolts right onto your subframe on stock brackets and mounts. IS300 engine mounts work just as well I believe since you find 2J's in the is300's anyway lol. Some people then start tinkering with the engine height by picking the rubber parts of the mounts from different cars. This is mainly done to drop the engine a bit lower and/or move it backwards for better weight distribution. Obviously once you start doing that, the sump will start clashing with the subframe and you will have to cut and modify it.There is absolutely nothing stopping you from mounting it on stock mounts and leaving it at that. With regards to the gearbox. I still keep seeing different results from various people. Some have managed to bolt their r154s on stock mounting points using the standard is200/altezza gearbox mount.

Some only managed to bolt it up using two holes. It all depends on what combination of engine brackets/mounts you end up using.I have a friend currently doing a 1JZ conversion using an engine from a JZX90 with a W58. And his bolted up like oem using the mounts that came with the engine. Even the stock prop shaft was fitted without any problems.A common prop shaft that people use are the ones from automatic Altezzas on the r154 setup. Its pretty hard to plan something like this, most of it is trial and error and is done when you actually come to do the job. Hence thats why im guessing every person does it slightly differently. But compared to most engine swaps, this can be considered a 'straight swap' in a certain way.Remote shifter might need to be fabricated to move the shifter in the center of the opening that goes to the car interior. Once again, all depends on the combination of bits that you use.In short, get the engine, get the gearbox. Get yourself some IS300 engine brackets and mounts and go from there.Wiring will probably be that hardest part.but thats because I hate wiring and have no understanding of it.
Lexus Is300 Vs Is350
Hello everyone, i am in a dilemma and i would like the best advise please. I would like to do the same as Argyle Dan and do a swap, the 1g-fe is becoming rear and i wound not like to be in the same situation again. I've spent and lost to much money on a fix and would like a reliable engine, with that said. I would like to do the same and place a is300 engine in my is200. But my biggest fear is will the engine fit the automatic transmission that is currently on my vehicle. Also if i get the complete engine wire harness and ECU from the is300 would it be able to work in my car.
I would also like to know if the ECU would be able to speak/ talk to the transmission as well. Would i have to do any additional work? Are there any hidden surprise? Please guys I like my car and i would hate to loose it.
